Self-guided evaluation · about five minutes
See it work, then try to break it.
Send a payload across a real mission's relay chain with a real outage and watch it on the mission clock. Every chunk and every relay handoff is checked cryptographically, then you can attempt the attacks a dishonest relay or network would try. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.
1 Pick a mission
2 Send the data
The source splits a payload into chunks, fingerprints each one and signs one manifest over all of them. Each relay signs a custody receipt as the data passes. The outage holds some chunks until the link returns.
Replayed about 1x faster than real time. The clock shows true mission time.
delivered and verified held by the outage, delivered after it outage window now

3 Try to break it
Each button attempts one attack on the run you just made. The destination should refuse every one, and say why.
4 Take it with you
Download this run and check it yourself with the open-source reference code. No trust in this page required.

For engineers
- Open source (Apache-2.0): BSVKey/dtn-custody-demo, with the full test suite and continuous integration.
- Record formats: specification and test vectors. This page reproduces them on load (see the self-check above).
- One command, any mission schedule:
node run-demo.mjs --plan contact-plans/mars-relay.json - Contact plans for NASA's DTN software:
node contact-plans/compile.mjs contact-plans/moon-occultation.json --hdtn moon.json --ion moon.ionrcproduces HDTN JSON and JPL ION contact and range commands. Verified end to end with NASA HDTN: our payload was stored by the HDTN router across a scheduled gap and verified at the receiver (results). - Real transports: Bundle Protocol v7 over µD3TN across a scheduled contact gap, and a real 100% packet-loss blackout over Linux network emulation (recorded results in the repository).
- Real space data: open-downlink-custody applies the same records to SatNOGS satellite downlinks (1,139 frames re-verified, none altered).
